A festive guide to Leeds this month
The festive season is officially upon us, there’s no escaping it! We are celebrating by giving you a round-up of things to keep you occupied in the city when taking a break from your Christmas shopping.
Christmas has come early this month as we’re giving away a prize a day for our Leeds Brewery Advent Competition. We’ve got free pints, Leeds Brewery bottle gift boxes, our Leeds Brewery reindeer t-shirts, chutneys, cheese and more!
To get involved, all you have to do is follow both of our Twitter accounts @TheLeedsBrewery and @LBpubs and keep an eye out and retweet our daily post. We will be selecting our winners at random so you’ve got as good a chance as any. Good luck!
The Christkindelmarkt is a must see every year in Leeds city centre and is one of the most established German Christmas markets in the UK. Located in Millennium Square, the market is full of traditionally decorated wooden stalls, festive food and drink, a carousel ride and seasonal gifts.
As a replacement from the usual German beer tent, this year there is the new festive food and drink pop-up; the viking inspired THOR’S tipi bar. This can be found on Victoria Gardens just outside the Art Gallery on The Headrow, serving mulled wine, hot cider and local draft ales, including our very own Leeds Brewery beer.
There’s plenty of fun for the whole family and we guarantee it will get you into the festive spirit. The market is on until Sunday 18th December while the THOR’S tipi will be staying put until Saturday 31st December so pop in and see us for a pint.
Take a look at our pub’s festive menus and book your Christmas meal with us. With 2 menus available across our pubs including the choice of either a 2 or 3 course meal or a buffet option filled with tasty nibbles, there’s something for everyone. See our individual pub websites for their menus and give us a call or drop us an email us today to book a table.
We also have a range of festive drinks to wash it all down with. From our seasonal Reindeer Porter, a traditional dark ale, to our winter warmers including Baileys hot chocolate, mulled wine, mulled cider and Irish coffee, we have plenty to choose from.
Christmas In Leeds is a new event in the city this year and has been organised and funded by LeedsBID. They have collaborated with partners such as East Street Arts, Leeds College of Art, NEWSUBSTANCE, Lumen, Northern Ballet, Trinity Leeds, Leeds City Council and more.
So what is Christmas In Leeds? It’s a trail of art, lights and magic, showcasing immersive art and local creatives and bringing the city to life. The trail will guide people around the city and maps will be available from key locations across the city for you to pick up. The trail runs from 1st December to 3rd January and is an evening of sparkle and originality suitable for all ages.
Don't forget to pop into one of our city centre pubs for a warming beverage or one of our traditional Yorkshire pints and some tasty classic pub meals from our winter menu.
