LEODIS WINS SILVER MEDAL IN NATIONAL BEER COMPETITION

Leeds Brewery’s Leodis lager has picked up a silver medal in the Premium Lager category at a prestigious national beer festival. The Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) holds the competiton as part of its annual Beer X Festival of Beer in Sheffield, where beers from across the country go head to head as they are judged by panels of industry experts in blind tasting sessions.

Leodis came second overall in the Premium Pale and Golden Lagers category. It is the only kegged beer currently produced by the brewery, and is available on bars throughout Yorkshire, as well as being a permanent fixture in all six Leeds Brewery pubs.

Head brewer Venkatesh Iyer was delighted at the news saying; ‘it’s great to have Leodis recognised as being amongst the best kegged beers in the country. The whole brew team is celebrating’.

LEEDS BREWERY DOUBLE SHORTLISTED IN PRESTIGIOUS PUB AWARDS

Leeds Brewery has been shortlisted in two categories in a prestigious national pub awards. The brewery is a finalist in the ‘Best Microbrewing Pub Company’ category, and The Crowd of Favours, one of two new Leeds Brewery pubs to have opened in 2013, has made it through to the final six contenders in the ‘Best New Pub’ competiton.

Following an extensive judging process, the winners will be announced in London in March.

Brewery director Michael Brothwell said; ”To be shortlisted in two seperate categories in a national competition which represents the very best the industry has to offer is a fantastic achevement and a credit to the enormous amount of hard work put in across the company. 2014 should be another exciting year for Leeds Brewery as we continue to grow and we look forward to the results being announced in March”.

HUNSLET HAWKS TRIUMPH IN LEEDS BREWERY LAZENBY CUP

Hunslet Hawks 20 - 16 Leeds Rhinos

Hunslet Hawks defeated the Leeds Rhinos to win the Leeds Brewery Lazenby Cup in the annual pre season friendly at the South Leeds Stadium.

The historic fixture has now been sponsored by Leeds Brewery for three years, with Hunslet also stocking the brewery’s beers in the club’s Phoneix Bar, and the company has already committed to extending its support for next season.

Director Sam Moss said; ‘it’s great to be able to support the Hawks and I look forward to the continuation of our relationship going forwards into what will hopefully be a very succesful season’.
