Introducing our October seasonal cask

Forget carving a pumpkin this Halloween...try drinking one! It’s that time of year where we bring you our very own Leeds Brewery Pumpkin Ale.

We thought we would give you a good and proper introduction to our autumn themed brew, with the lowdown on the ingredients, brewing process and tasting notes.

Our Pumpkin Ale will be available in all of our pubs on Thursday 13th October and there will be an official launch night at The Brewery Tap from 5pm. Join us to be one of the first to get your hands on a pint of the keg beer and meet the brewers behind the beer. They will be around to answer any questions you might have and tell you a bit more about the brewing process.

What is a Pumpkin Ale?

Pumpkin Ale is a style of beer that is popular in America using the flesh of a pumpkin and combining it with malt to produce fermentable sugars. Spices can also be added to recreate the flavour of the typical American dessert Pumpkin pie.

Leeds Brewery’s Pumpkin Ale

Our Pumpkin Ale is a deep red coloured ale with a rich malt backbone and smooth texture. We have added pumpkins (hand smashed by the brewers themselves) to the mash tun, along with some rye and double roasted crystal malts, giving the final product a biscuit malt character while having distinctive yet subtle pumpkin overtones.

At 4.5% it’s an ideal session beer and will be available on the bar in both cask and keg.
